Fazal Uncle is gonna be busy......

It's been almost a week now since my last post. Though I had made up my mind a few weeks back to be as regular as possible, somehow something or the other keeps me occupied, and on most occasions thought I spend 60% of my time in front of the comp, I rarely have the patience to blog...

I can see myself getting more irregular with blogging over the days to come.
Reasons being multiple, the first and foremost being, it's my uncle's(my mom's youngest bro) wedding on May13th , and in many ways its been the most awaited wedding of the year for everyone.

The good news coming my way because of this wedding is........
My little nephew "Aman" is coming to meet his only uncle(MEEEE....) along with his mom(my sis) and his grand mom(my mom) this Friday. So that would also mean, I will no longer be home alone starting Friday....

So while "Aman" is here at home, all my time is only for him, till we actually head to native to attend the wedding... In the mean time let me introduce you all to my little wonder...
"Say Hi to everyone Amannnn......"

A True Citizen in Me.....

For the third time today since I turned 18, i exercised my right to vote. (And for all those who are trying to calculate my age based on the above data, Plz note, the first time I voted, I cast two votes, one for the assembly and the other for the parliament. So just add another 5 to 18 and that would be my age now.. haha)
Coming back....
After having a not so pleasant experience at the polling station when I was returned saying my name does not exist, I didn give up.
I had made up my mind I will vote, and I was sure my name existed in the electoral role. Thanks to sites like Jaagore and Google. I was able to confirm that my name did exist in the electoral role.
So after getting some external help, and thanks to one gentleman at the polling station who was truly professional, I was able to caste my vote.
The irony tho' is that the last two times, the candidate for whom I caste my vote have lost.. So I have this feeling that this time Mr." " is gonna lose...

Earth Day.. My Contirbution...

As the world observes "Earth Day" today, I am happy to say that I did my part to save the earth...
What did I do?
I took a bus back home from office instead of using my bike (Thanks to the rain tho)

Happy Birthday to fazal......

I used to often tell a friend of mine that the two of us speak to each other only on two occasions in a year. That’s when we call each other to wish each other Happy birthday. And so today was one such day when I flooded with calls, with everyone calling to wish "Happy Birthday Fazal.."

Yes, Today "April 18th" happens to be the day I celebrate my birthday every year. And so that answers why April happens to be my “The most favorite month of the year”...

As I was home alone for a second consecutive birthday, this time around a few good friends of mine decided to celebrate my birthday, and thanks to "Robin" who arranged a full birthday party at short notice for me at his place, this birthday was my first ever birthday when I cut a cake at the stroke of mid night... Sorry, I cut two cakes... hehe..

Thanks all you guys for having made my day special.... In the absence of family it's only friends like these who bring relief to your life.

This blog is solely dedicated only to "fazal"....
So here is wishing myself "Happy Birthday......."
For those of you who missed my birthday cake, here, you can catch a glimpse of it...
But Don't try count the candles on them..

Blogger thanks giving...

After having completed 3 yrs at work, after having posted 50 blog posts, today is the day my blog turns 3 years old.

April is in many ways my "The most favourite month" of the year. I am sure most people who know things about me will already know why. But for the others, don’t worry, you are at the rite place to find answers. Keep watching this space and you ll know why I love the month "April" so much.

So as I complete 3 years of blogging, I ll would love to share with all how and when all this started and the one person behind fazal and his blog...

I was very new to the world of blogging 3 years back. Infact I didn even know that we could blog and there was a site called blogger.com.
It was on this fateful day 3 years back that "Sumi" introduced me to the world of blogging, and it was she who created my blog name and signed up for me. And in many ways April 15th is or rather was synonymous to our existence. It was on the same fateful day that we gotta know each other a few more years back then..

She is the one who taught me the basics of blogging, the how to... And if there is somethin that i look upto it is her style of bloggin...
She is also the one who taught me to blog and compose messages with lesser spellin mistakes. (Ya, I was very bad at spelling, a little better now though, thanks to all the spell checks). I can go on and on about her. In many ways all that what you see and what you read is all thanks to her.

Was it not for her, I sometimes wonder what I would have been... And since the time I have lost my this "Kismat Connection" my life has never been the same again...

My majority of the posts are always dedicated to her though I don’t directly credit them to her.. But this one is especially for her.

Sometimes I really wish I could trace back the moments of my life and correct certain things....

So now that leaves me with no more room for dedications. But that does not leave me short of people to thank them...

I have had quite a few avid followers of my blogger, or that’s how I would like to believe... The truth is I force them to read.. And so here is a hearfelt sympathy to my friends "Ashwin", "Chandan" and "Nandini"....
Guys... They say good times come after bad times.. See now you guys are all famous.. See its paid off to read my blog... So anyone who feels their names have not pictured in this blog, you know what you need to do...
Btw.. Forgot.. a special thanks to "snow queen" and "Shub"... It's nice at times to know that there are actually two people who read my blog without me forcing them to read...

So here's celebrating 3 years of successful blogging.............

A story of a techie post and pre recession

Thanks to the economic recession, we techies are the least sort out people these days. Look at all the changes that have come by..

Then....
There used to be a time when I felt i was bein over loaded with work I used to walk up to my manager and speak to him. And then he would try sort it out, for the sheer risk of losing out a good resource.
Now...
I think twice before I complain about work. The simplest answer my manager gives me is, "Fine! if not you someone else...."

Then...
I had the luxury to chose the project I want and the attitude to say "No" to projects that i didn wanna work in
Now...
I have no say. I am at the mercy of other project managers.

Then...
Onsite opportunities were plenty.
Now...
Consider yourself lucky if you at least have an offshore job.

Then...
While on bench I had the luxury to try for jobs outside and attend interviews.
Now...
Being on bench is the most scariest thing. Never know when I might be asked to walk out.

Then...
It was easy for me to hop jobs at will and quote exorbitant salary.
Now...
I hardly get interview calls and I have to agree to work for a few pennies.

Then...
I used to get a 30% to 40% salary hike on my appraisals
Now...
I am forced to be content even on a single digit hike or no hike or sometimes even take a pay cut

Then...
I had the luxury to come to office when i want and leave when i want.
Now...
My attendance is tracked and I am forced to stick to office timings.

Then...
I could take leaves at will
Now...
I am scared to take leaves for the fear my leave might end up in a permanent vacation.

Then...
I used to get frequent calls offering credit cards and personal loans
Now...
I only get investment calls. (But where is the money to invest)

Then...
All my relatives and family friends were excited about my job
Now...
All Sympathize with my job and speak to me with grave concern

Then...
We guys had a very high market valuation in the marriage market.
Now...
Our value also has crashed just like the stock markets. And we are no longer the creamy layer or the most sort out people

Lastly...
Then...
I used to hardly blog. And people used to hardly read
Now...
I blog everyday and I have many more readers...
(And if you think I am bloggin more cos I am jobless, then I am sure you too are reading this jus cos you are as jobless as me)

Me... these Days

These days every time I am angry or when something is bothering me or when I get moody, I always end up taking my anger on people who are close to me… The price people have to pay for being close to me…. Fazal comes with a high price tag attached…

But I remember reading somewhere that the “Best things in life come free”… The vast earth, the blue sky, the water, the wind.. All are free...

Shoddy Journalism....

Journalism at its new levels. A journalist hurls shoe at a cabinet minister in India. But luckily for him, and thanks to Indian politics he goes un punished. I didn't pay much heed to the incidence. But last nite I was watching a popular news channel which was discussing the whole Issue. And what irritated me the most is two prominent highly reputed journalists were actually defending the stand taken by the insane shoe hurler.

All these days it was the political class that were the untouchables. Now add journalists to this new list. They have all the freedom to do what they want. How on earth can you EVER defend a fellow colleague when the entire world knows what he did was no true to his profession.

May be he had his personal reasons to it, but at that very press conference he was a journalist who is not supposed to have any political or religious inclination!!!

You might wash away this instance saying its way too trivial..

But just imagine this... Tomorrow a journalist walks into a press conference and instead of shoe, starts hurling bullets at the minister!!! And i am sure there will still be journalists who ll support his cause saying after all he too is human and he too has emotions!!!

Pure double standards.. If that's the case every criminal in this country should be left free. No individual commits an offence for the sheer joy of it. He/She commits a crime for a reason, and from humanitarian point of view his reasons might be genuine.

Tomorrow a son will go kill the person who abused his dad verbally. Why should you punish the child! He was just showing off his emotions.

Where are we heading????

As a journalist there are lotta ways to raise public opinion. From what i remember the "Jessicca Lal" case, the "BMW" Case.. The media played a huge role in raising public opinion and ensuring the guilty are brought under the purview of law.

It's a different issue as to how effective our Judiciary is..

Simply put..

Two wrong don't make a right... And it's really a pity when I see the nation’s top journalists defending someone just because he happens to be from the world of media...

I guess it's time to introspect..

8.2 Secs all it takes????

"It takes 8.2 seconds for a man to fall in love at first sight" say scientists

It made me laugh when I read the news in the paper the other day. I wish falling in love was so easy. Now all you girls reading this will be thinking what is the big deal in this, guys fall in love at the flip of a coin and fall outta love even sooner..

But that ain't true... And if all you girls still think so, then give a guy a chance to stare into your eyes for 8.2 secs and see what happens. He will sure end up thinking that you have a squint eye and he ll run away from you.. hehe..

Coming back to my topic.. Ya, Having been in love once and still living on, by holding on to the fond memories my love has gifted me , I was left thinking if such an absurd statement could be true..

Had research said that "It takes 8.2 seconds for a man to have a crush on a girl at first sight" I would have agreed to it blindly. And for someone like me who admires mother nature and its creation, it just takes less than a fraction of a sec to have a crush, and as the word itself says it takes less than a thousand of a sec for my crush to get crushed..

But being a little jobless over the last few weeks and since I ve been home alone (thereby implyin that I have been out with friends for a major part of the day) I thought I will give this "Claim" by scientists a try and actually see if falling in love was so easy...

So here is what I did... On most occasions, whenever I found someone pretty, I made a sincere attempt to stare at girl’s right into their eye for a flat 8.2 secs. (Na.. I didn’t time it.. But I guess in most cases I went way beyond that time as it kinda gets addictive)

Okay, fazal being the good guy he is, in most cases, it was not staring!!! It was gazing!!

Staring at someone is quite offensive.. Gazing at someone is quite subtle feel...

And after having volunteered myself for this tests, here are my 3 observations..

-> In most cases, girls do not give you a chance to gaze into their eyes a full 8.2 secs straight. Most of the girls are generally very coy. So the eye contact hardly lasts a few seconds.. But interestingly most girls acknowledge and enjoy the attention they get. They will in most cases return your gaze in very subtle fashion (Ahem.. Guys, there is a ray of hope!!! So all the best)

-> Being the shy and reserved person I am, more often that not, I myself end up being so shy, that I turn away the moment our eyes would meet..

-> There are these playful girls who return your gaze in a naughty manner, which in most cases makes you go an a defensive.. Ya, better to play safe..

In short it simply does not work!!! Ya, firstly a stranger will never give you a chance to stare into her eye for such a long duration. So it’s simply impossible to fall in love in this fashion.

So I propose a new thesis based on my study...

"Stare at someone who is known to you, and if she really loves you, then chances are she ll sure let you stare her in the eye, and I am sure that in this case the two of you will start to like each other after this"

And if this works, I would love to hear from you folks..

But if something goes wrong, please!!! Don’t come back to me. It’s your risk. Keep in mind “The same girl will react differently to the same statement differently at different instances of time” Hehe.. So try, try until you succeed!!!
